Great Western Greenway


For walkers and cyclists, the Great Western Greenway is the perfect route to take. Departing from either the 250 year old town of Newport with its breathtaking sea-views and it opulent estate of Westport House, board the Westport train tour or visit the Irish town of Mulranny with its sandy beach and enjoy the wonderful Irish landscapes along the way.

The Great Western Greenway passes over a number of bridges including Burrishoole Bridge, Mulranny Bridge and Newport Bridge. Walkers and cyclists will find it hard to miss the wonderful views over Blacksod bay.

Experience a bit of the Wild Atlantic Way on the West coast of Ireland whilst enjoying a walk or a cycle along the Great Western Greenway.
