Doonagore Castle, a 16th century tower house on the West coast of Ireland

Doonagore Castle is a striking tower house dating back to the 16th century. Whilst it is now a private residence, it's a spectaular sight with the backdrop of the rolling sea and Doolin Point.
Its dramatic location is just along from the stunning Cliffs of Moher, on the West coast just 15 minutes from the seaside town of Lahinch.

A few kilometres further on is the beautifully charming coastal village of Doolin. All well worth a visit with endless photo opportunities!

Built from sandstone, the castle witnessed the "sinking of a ship from the Spanish Armada in 1588".
