600 hectares of beautifully preserved mountain landscape, a gem in the Ring of Beara

If you plan to spend your Irish holiday in the Kenmare area, on or around the Ring of Kerry, Gleninchaquin Park is one of the places you must visit.

Actually located on the Beara peninsula, the park is 600 hectares of mountain landscape, totally preserved. It’s a little gem of the Beara peninsula, and definitely one of our favourites!

This beautiful valley offers a spectacular waterfall, an 18th Century thatched farmstead (which features in the film 'The Widow's Last'), a sensory garden along the stream, sheep grazing in perfect green pastures which you can freely walk amongst, and extensive mountain scenery. You won’t be disappointed!

Visitors are joyfully welcomed and the park proposes different walking circuits for all ages (from 1 hour to 7 hours). The tea room serves delicious homemade scones, cakes, pies and great coffee!

This wonderful park must be included when you’re visiting the region whether you’re following the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Beara or just stepping off the Ring of Kerry for a day.

Right beside the Gleninchaquin park, and almost within view, you will find another beautiful heritage site, the Uragh Stone Circle.

Enjoy the photos...
