Muckross House and gardens in Killarney National Park

Muckross House is a 19th century Victorian mansion situated in the Killarney National Park. The house and gardens have views over Muckross Lake, one of Killarney's three lakes, famous for their splendour and beauty.

Designed by the British architect, William Burn, with sixty-five rooms, it was built in the Tudor style in 1843 for Henry Arthur Herbert and his wife, the watercolourist Mary Balfour Herbert. Today the house and gardens are open to the public.

Visit the interior of this splendid mansion, wander through the immaculate gardens or enjoy the garden restaurant and terrace. Jaunting Cars can take you for a tour of the Killarney lakes or to the Torc Waterfall.
